Losing our musical legends is part of the natural order of things but losing Issac Hayes, Bernie Mac and now Pervis Jackson is totally sad. We are very sad to inform SoulTrackers that Detroit's WXYZ-TV has reported that Spinners deep-voice bass vocalist Pervis Jackson (far right in the picture) has died of cancer at age 70 at Detroit's Sinai-Grace Hospital. An institution in soul music for more than 40 years, Jackson was best known for his memorable line "12:45" in the group's smash hit "Games People Play." Jackson had battled illness on and off for a few years, but had continued to perform with the group as he could. Sadly, this year he was diagnosed with cancer and it proved fatal. He will be missed.
