So i'm walking from the parking lot at Arizona State U
(walking, cuz my
2nd bike was stolen Monday nite) and not only is the new
$8,000,000 football
facility (you know, like one of the white plastic tents over
golf courses in
the winter, at least in places where there is a winter) blew
to literally
SHREDS (With all three TV stations giving a memorial for it,
lol), but the
other half of all the trees on the ASU campus not blown down
from the last
monsoon are now lying on the ground. The silence usually
enjoyed on my walk to
work was rudely interrupted by the sound (s) of chainsaws
cutting the trees
apart so people could walk and drive to work. Trees
everywhere, orange trees,
mesquite, and GIANT palms, all (ok, not all, but a whole
bunch) being cut apart
and put into the chopper. Man, are they going to have a hard
day today. Good
thing this didn't happen last Thursday night as it was the
second moving in day
for the students.
Power out all around (except of course at ASU). The workers
at ASU were having fun enough just trying to get the campus
ready for the first
football game tomorrow night. Guess the poor football players
will have to
practice in the sun, heat, and humidity like the rest of us
poor Sun Devil
fans.
