"I haven't focused too much on the war in Iraq." Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin, selected to be a heartbeat away from the job of commander-in-chief, mother of a soldier about to deploy to Iraq and she admits publicly that she hasn't "focused too much on the war in Iraq," the most important military issue of the election.

She obviously didn't focus too much on the office of Vice President of the United States, either. "As for that VP talk all the time, I'll tell you, I still can't answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day? I'm used to being very productive and working real hard in an administration."

  • Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R), quoted just last month by Politico. (Why am I reminded of Bush's whine about being President, "It's hard work!")

But, in all fairness, perhaps she was distracted by the special prosecutor investigating her for abuse of office.
