Parcel bomb in Pettah injures 45 (2nd lead)

The bomb explosion near a temporary wayside shop selling watches in the Olcott Mawatha in Pettah today (August 30th) has injured 45 persons, reports say.
No deaths have been reported.
Two children are among the injured, Director of the Colombo National Hospital, Dr. Anil Jasinghe says.
Two persons in critical condition have been subjected to surgery, he added.
The parcel bomb has been concealed in the roof of the wayside shop, reports add.
Subsequent to the blast, security forces temporarily closed down the Colombo Fort main road and investigations were launched in the area.
