Is Bristol Palin really pregnant? Why does it matter?
September 1, 2008 | ZIP/Postal code 55418 | Vetting explained
The MSM media has gone with Palin's side of the story so far, but will they start asking the questions that created the rumors? Bristol being pregnant now doesn't answer those lingering questions.
Why did Sarah Palin surprise so many people at the announcement she was pregnant with Trig?
How did she go from an unnoticeable pregnancy to labor in 6 weeks?
Why didn't she go to the hospital in Texas when she was showing signs of going into labor?
Why did she have to fly to Alaska (with a stop in Seattle)?
Why didn't the flight attendants notice a mother about to give birth later that evening?
Why bypass the best facility in Alaska for a small town hospital with a premature birth?
Those questions don't prove that Sarah's account of the events creates a coverup. It would prove however that Sarah was reckless at least and lacked common sense judgment.
Sarah's making the claim her daughter is pregnant the precise number of months needed (5) to debunk the coverup theory (Trig was born 4 months ago). Now the daughter is protected by the 5th or privacy, whichever you call it.
What was the original coverup theory? That Sarah was attempting to hide her unmarried 16 year old daughter's baby which her fellow conservatives could deem disgraceful and dent her pro-abstinence platform. That coverup theory makes Sarah out to be a deceiving, untrustworthy person, plus being perceived as a pro-abstinence mother with a pregnant teen daughter. Those rumors already swirling in Alaska blew across the U.S. after Palin was introduced on the national stage.
If you want to stick with the Trig coverup theory, today's announcement is a coverup for a coverup. Palin says now, not a year ago, Bristol is pregnant. Palin attempts to erase the implications of distrust on her own character. Palin regretfully knew one way or another the public would find Bristol is or will be a mother, but she found her place in the election now in jeopardy. However, by admitting today that Bristol is pregnant now only more legitimizes that Bristol could have pregnant a year ago.
Why didn't this announcement come in response to the rumors already going around in Alaska?
So take your pick. Is Sarah involved in a still developing coverup conspiracy or crazy mother putting job, travel and small-town hospital before the safety of her child?
