iReport —
In a sure sign of progress in post-Gustav New Orleans, internationally acclaimed Cafe Du Monde reopened today. Cafe Du Monde is a 200 year old landmark in New Orleans, it's across from Jackson Square. It's famous for serving cafe au lait and beignets, and for being open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The second pic shows an empty Cafe Du Monde taken soon after Hurricane Gustav hit on Monday. And with the Saints playing Tampa Bay in the SuperDome on Sunday, residents of New Orleans have a couple of reasons to be glad to be back in their city.
