iReport —
I keep reading different post where people are using the war to say that Obama does not respect soldiers and does not want us to fight the war on terror. Where is the war on terror? I thought especially since I am a veteran that we fight our enemies. Osama Bin Laden attacked not only the united States, but he attacked our allies and American interest abroad. On September 11, 2001 he launched the ultimate attack on our country. The Bush administration responded by sending a handful of troops to afghanistan, and sent the majority of our military to Iraq. Some people say Iraq is a justified war. We had to free the Iraqi people from Saddam. So my questions are simple. Why did we wait until Osama Bin Laden Attacked America before we decided to free Iraqi people? Wouldn't it have made more sense to find Osama Bin Laden first by using most of our military assets to hunt him down since Sadam had no capability of attacking our country? Why would our show of force and military might be best utlized in freeing the Iraqi people, in all honesty there are many countries that are under far worst dictatorships? How would one feel if a person close to us was murdered, and the police department responded by saying we will send a patrol car to look for the killer, but the majority of the police fore is gong to stop J walking. I guess I am frustrated. I want Osama Bin Laden dead or alive for killing 13 of my friends. I think its great the Iraqi people are free, but what about other countries that dont have oil. Dont they deserve to be free also. Sadam was bad, but our focus should have been Osama Bin Laden. Now Al Quaida is stronger then ever, they have had time to re-group and train. Unfortunately our troops have been warn thin, and over used in Iraq, we have no real solid defense against another attack. The only thing that keeps our troops going and motivated is Honor, Courage, Duty and Discipline. God Bless our troops but lets bring them home so they can fight a real war on terror.
