Oh to be as good as my Mom!
September 15, 2008 | Austin, Texas | Vetting explained
Did I turn out like my Mother? In some ways I am, but it sure wouldn't bother me to be even more like her. I was blessed with the most wonderful of Mothers. I am thankful that I got many of her caring qualities and also glad I got a stubborn streak she doesn't have! Her willingness to bend generally got her run over so I learned to bend but not to break. She is one of the kindest people in the world but is also very shy, I am not at all shy and tend to be kind only as long as it is a shared kindness. I will turn mean as soon as someone is mean to me or others, Mom just doesn't have a mean bone in her body.
Growing up she was the Mom all the kids loved, I was lucky enough to have that when my kids were growing up too. I wasn't quite as naive as Mom either, I don't know if that is good or bad,
innocence like she has can be a blessing! My Mom did ride a Harley when it wasn't something women did, she is 5' 2". I guess that would be another area I am like Mom...independence!
My Mom is one of the greatest ladies I know...I have quite a ways to go to reach her level, I'll keep working on it but she set a very high standard.
