One Of The Greats
September 19, 2008 | My Life Time | Vetting explained
The funny thing about bands is, they all come with the same chances. The all have a drummer, guitarist, and vocalist. Some try and add in thier own flavor with some keyboard or a talented basist etc. But still most find they are just another in a field of many. Very few groups can actually become so distinct that they are never to be confused with any other. They sound so all on thier own level that they cross musical generations and barriers. Very few get this honor and distinction. Pink Floyd by any measure and on any continent has been, met and surpased that standard. Tribute to such a band is easy and difficult in the same hand. Easy because so many have so much to say about the so few that are and were Pink Floyd. So difficult because they are the influence that has created most of the ideas we would imagine to do a tribute with. Thank you for the music, the long nights of youth laughing and partying and fighting the "system" to... and the music that now as an adult everyday at work I help build and remodel the "system" to... Thank you, thank you, and... thank you...
