Anyone that's a parent knows the persistent query of a child on a long road trip. Are we there yet? As far as a Democratic candidate for President, nope.

Hillary Clinton's chances to garner the nomination seem slim to none. She trails in delegates and the popular vote. Her campaign is in debt, while Barack Obama's registers are ringing.

Clinton insists that not only will she campaign for the upcoming Pennsylvania primary, but will continue straight on through the long hot summer to August's Democratic convention in Denver.

Nothing wrong with campaigning. Much of the supposed chagrin of the DNC and party stalwarts at Hillary still being in the race, appears to be the invention of a hungry media. Unease plays better. Remember, if the media were the arbiter of the race, it would have been over after New Hampshire.

But after Pennsylvania? In PA, in Clinton strongholds, Obama's been drawing huge crowds. Let alone getting a needed win (it would have to be colossal), should Hillary lose, how could she possibly go on?

There have been Clinton camp claims that Obama is unelectable. The pleas of a red-faced Bill Clinton, on behalf of his wife, to the superdelegates. (Hey media, is that red-faced or impassioned? Right, red-faced is better ink.) Comparisons to Rocky Balboa. It's all campaign gas to keep Clinton going, and hope by some miracle that Obama collapses. Doesn't seem likely.

So on to PA, with hands clasped and eyes heavenward for Hillary. Should her prayers not be answered, then should come real consideration to getting out of the race and not dragging us through an ill-fated journey to Denver.
