A Legend has left us...
September 18, 2008 | Granite Bay, California | Vetting explained
The other day I was watching some old videos of the Floyd, in honor of Richard. It's not that I never did this before his death, in fact I do it almost once a week, just to listen to their music without having to bust out a vinyl, but I think this time I went into it with a different mindset. A more somber one to say the least. I thought of "Time" and it's message, and well to cut to the chase, I wrote a poem. Not just for Rick but all of Floyd and I feel it applies to anyone you have lost.
I've seen the Gods in all their glory
They let their music tell their story
But I saw them young in videos old
They worked like dogs to break the mold.
Time passes quite consistently
My young mind makes it hard to see
These mortal men will whither and die
But I smile knowing, I'll see them at The Great Gig in the Sky.
We love you Rick. Say Hi to Syd for me.
