HURRICANE IKE VICTIMS EVACUATED
September 18, 2008 | Houston, Texas | Vetting explained
Hurricane Ike victims receive food and temporary shelter at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Downtown Houston. Volunteers and workers assist with everything from FEMA relief and registration to passing out food and beverages. In the event more people leave Galveston as access to and from the island increases, the convention center is ready with more cots and supplies for those in need. The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
