I'm the guy who used Twitter to communicate during Hurricane Gustav (I stayed, I didn't evacuate from New Orleans), and soon I'm going to be reporting from the front lines as Texas (esp. Galveston and Hoston) recover and rebuild post Hurricane Ike. I'm leaving New Orleans as part of a two person crew who has a van that is "locked and loaded" (my associate's term) and should be arriving in Houston on Monday morning. We have stockpiled food, tools and we have an EVDO-enabled laptop with a digital camera (that can shoot vid as well). As with Gustav, Twitter will be my primary form of communication, if you are interested, please follow me at: http://twitter.com/RebuildHoustonor on iReport (where I be uploading my analysis and stories that require more than 140 characters.
In response to assignment: Hurricane Ike
