iReport —

As a new Independent as of this year when I left the Democratic Party after voters in my state were counted as half people and half votes as punishment for the actions of their party leaders, actions the people had no control over. A voter should never be stripped of their voice just because Democratic Party leaders and Republican Party leaders in a state changed the primary day, fine the state, do not rob voters of their voice, particularly for something voters had no control over. The voters in FL did not pick their primary day, we were told when to vote, paid our tax dollars, and I can promise you none of us here were ok with the DNC stealing our vote from us from the start. I know various people here who have left the party this year over just this, but I can honestly say that they have not become Republicans. The DNC created a lot of new Independents this year out of their own party members. I decided not to go back to the Democratic Party after Obama was hand selected by the DNC because after some thought it came to me that perhaps in this fighting among ourselves because our government is set up as two opposing sides that have to battle to make change, that maybe this really is the problem with our government. How are we going to fix our country fighting in the name of Democrat or Republican when in all reality we have lost sight of the fact that we are all Americans and it takes every one of us to make the country what it is. We have lost sight of the fact that we are sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, mothers, fathers, neighbors, and friends. We are one people divided in half and both sides are so sure that their views are the right ones that we have forgotten that the beauty in being an American used to be that we have the right to have those views and it should be respected. So why is it now that our views divide us? What would happen if just for once our government was not set up to where people have to fight to pass laws and things actually got achieved . How much time would these people in government have to work if they did not spend it fighting between each other, spreading blatant lies through ads like BOTH parties are doing at the moment, and actually getting along. You know, in any relationship (even marriage) it is bound to happen that two people's views conflict a time or two. The difference between our government and the common American couple is that the common American couple finds a way to meet in the middle while our government fights and cancels each other out and acts like one is the better than the other when in all actuality we are all just Americans and it stinks just the same when both are on the jon. I am not sure who I am voting for anymore, I may just not vote this year, but I do know this. Those Dems who want to point out the GOP for being responsible for our financial crisis are ignorant. If you have watched the news you know that wall street and these various banks were run and mismanaged by both Democrats and Republican so keeping it real in all actuality we have both parties to blame, it is the fault of band lending for one and there are plenty of Dems as well as Republicans responsible for this as well. Obama himself has links to Dems who are part responsible for the problem we find ourselves in, just as I am sure plenty of Republicans do. Keeping it real, it is various Americans both Democrat and Republican who have caused this problem. I knew a crooked table lender in here in FL that used to write tons of loans that should not have been written and she was Dem as well, and I am sure her and people like her have placed plenty of people in loans they simply cannot afford now and I stopped talking to her because I thought she was wrong her crooked practices. People like this, common people looking to make way more than they should in the first place off these loans, are part responsible. So, sure, it is the GOP some, and then it is the DNC some, and even more SOME, it is probably Bush who never ran anything successful in his life before he was elected and people should have read more about him before they elected him into office. So, In closing, vote for who you want to vote for. I may not vote at all, but I have nothing against anyone who wants to vote for others. I was kind of turned off by Obama at first and I was almost for McCain for a minute. Now I see things about both of them I do not like and I think both sides have gotten very petty in their ads. I know in my heart that even if I do not vote this year that the American people will all vote for who they feel is right for the job in their hearts and the right person will win either way. If it turns out we do not like who gets into office, we can vote them back out in 4 more years.
