Aerial photos of the YFZ ranch in Eldorado, Texas
April 6, 2008 | Vetting explained
I flew over the polygamist compound at the YFZ ranch in Eldorado, Texas over the summer of 2007 in a friend's small plane. Having grown up in San Angelo, about 45 miles north of Eldorado, I'd heard about the FLDS sect since they bought the ranch in 2003. My family actually had friends whose ranches shared fencelines with this compound and had been warned by local officials of who to call if a minor came on to their property and reported that he or she had been a victim of abuse.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
