Update: Dogs Shot in Orlando Florida
September 25, 2008 | Orlando, Florida | Vetting explained
2 Dogs were shot in Orlando Florida in May 19th of 2008. Hoochie and Raley, 2 playful husky dogs, were shot 7 times in the eye, neck, and back in a field in Orlando by Christopher Comins. Both dogs were in critical condition, and Hoochie lost his eye as a result of the shooting. The intentional shooting of these dogs is not the first time Christopher Comins has been in trouble with the law. In 2005, he was charged with felony aggravated assault with a firearm for putting a gun to someone's head and threatening to kill him. He later pled down to a mere misdemeanor. According to many witnesses and a video of the shooting, the dogs posed no threat. Comins did not own the land, yet still shot Hoochie & Raley repeatedly, even as their owner was retrieving them. Now, the case is in the hands of the State Attorney, and he has the final say about what charges will be filed. People are concerned this cruelty will be swept under the rug due to the shooter's political connections and wealth.
A Rally was Held at the Orange County Courthouse on Sept 23rd 2008 to help raise awareness to the situation since nothing has been done to convict Christopher Comins on animal rights charges.
