The bail-out plan that has been suggested does not put enough equity into the hands of the government in exchange for a great deal of risk. A better option would be to consider some of the deas that the Swedes did in their similar crisis in the early 90s (see NYT aticle). I feel certain that CDO's and other leveraged investmnts will not be bought by the US at a reasonable price and this bail-out will only make a small dent in the foreclosure rate. We, the taxpayers, are being given the shaft to save Wall Street folks who have taken billions out in salaries - salaries they should never have received. We need to investigate and prosecute them all - and seize any funds and assets thet have remaining.
Neither McCain not Obama have the correct direction. Both camps are heavily influenced by former lobbyists and wall street bankers.
We need to vote them all out of office. We need a voter revolution. We need folks in office who are not lawyers and out to make a buck.
