I'm not the only one who felt that they went too far on this one. Breaking into Sarah Palin's email was illegal, but that's something that hackers do, they commit computer crimes. The thing with Oprah was funny, because she did it to herself. All Anonymous did was leave a forum post there for someone to find. The protests against Scientology are at least getting information about Scientology out there and helping out Xenu.net. The occasional raids on Habbo Hotel are more annoying than anything else, and trolling chatrooms as children to get adult male pedophiles to provide their email addresses which are postd for spamming and threats of FBI involvement, is no different from what Chris Hanson and his crew on MSNBC does when they try to get a pedophile to show up at a location where they are expecting to meet a 13 year old girl.

My favorite was the episode where the adult with the girlish voice on the phone, left the front door open and told the pedo to strip naked as soon as he got inside. Fortunately, Chris Hanson had a towel handy for the 26 year old man who was wearing nothing but his glasses. Now that was funny. Not for the guy, but it was funny for the audience when Chris Hanson asked him to take a seat while he rummaged through the bag containing alcoholic beverages, lube and condoms. And asked questions about it. However...today's raid was not funny, nor was it lulzy. Except to some of the Anonymous who took part in it-and who broke rules 1 and 2, thus making them fair game. The site was one of the online memorial websites, in honor of Caylee Anthony, the little girl in Florida who went missing in July, and is believed to have been murdered by her mother. It was a stupid idea to begin with. I happened along the thread on one of the Anonymous forums just after the first image was posted inviting members to exploit a link to upload photos to a website that doesn't require any type of registration process. NOTE: This is a security hole that should have been plugged long ago. Never. Ever. Let people post photos or videos to a website anonymously. If you do, you will be victimized by a raid like this. Been there. Done that.

"Do it for the lulz" This gave me the chance to catch them in the act of a raid. Yes, I notified the site owner that there were highly inappropriate photographs and videos being posted to their website. They've got a lot of work ahead of them, as they are going to have to delete all of the inappropriate content, but not the material that belongs there. Never. Ever. Let anyone post photos or videos to a website anonymously. If you do, you will have a lot of hours of cleanup work after a raid. Here is some of the initial discussion as the morality of raiding a memorial website was discussed. Note: As most of the users of Anonymous are about 15, the word "f-g" is one of their favorite words, it's not even an insult to them. I did censor out a lot of the swearing, especially the gratuitous use of the word f--k.
