After several weeks of violence between Israel and Palestinians,  Palestinian militants declared Sunday that they would stop attacks on Israel for a week, a statement that came hours after Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert announced a unilateral cease-fire, countries around the world are calling for a restoration of calm. Israel had launched a ground incursion into northern Gaza in early January, and hundreds have been killed in what Israeli defense minister Ehud Barak has called an "all-out war".
