Biography
Brenda is a nationally renowned thought leader on long term care and financial issues. She works passionately as an independent consultant, author, marketer, and advisor using her education, experience, and empathy to assist those in need. She is seeking opportunities to become a reporter for a major network or journalist for a world renowned publisher, specializing in financial, health care, long term care, or family issues. She has published and help write many articles in a variety of business periodicals and on CNN's "ireport" website. Brenda also collaborates with Financial Advisors, Insurance Agents, and CPAs to create, manage and protect their clients’ wealth by clearly defining and mitigating the financial, emotional, and physical risks associated with aging and long term care events. She has faced deaths, life threatening illness, disabilities, and other major traumas in her own family and life. She has extensive personal experience spanning for over 15 years as a caregiver to children and teenagers with special needs, and to the elderly. Brenda is very active in several medical research non-profit organizations, including serving on a Board of Directors. While she entered the insurance industry in 1986, her most recent position was Head of Strategic Business Development, PR, and Marketing at an owned firm of National Financial Partners (Ticker: NFP). She also has expertise as an Actuary at Hewitt Associates (Ticker: HEW) and CNA, in Risk Management Strategies at UBS/Swiss Bank (Ticker: UBS), and as V.P. of Sales and Marketing with Zacks Investment Research. Brenda earned an MBA from the University of Chicago in Finance/Marketing with honors, received a B.S. from the University of Illinois in Mathematics/Finance with honors, holds Life, Health, Long Term Care Insurance and CLTC licenses, passed ChFC and CFP exams, and is a member of NAIFA and AALTCI.
